Swansea City 1-0 Huddersfield Town: Ryan Manning strike seals victory for Russell Martin's men

Ryan Manning struck the only goal of the game as Swansea City's impressive run continued with a 1-0 win over relegation-threatened Huddersfield Town.

The Swans dominated possession throughout and, particularly in the second-half, threw everything at the Terriers as they looked to continue their recent resurgence.

And Manning's deflected strike in the 69th minute earned the hosts victory at the Swansea.com Stadium while they kept a fourth clean sheet in five games to continue their defensive improvement of late.

Russell Martin made just one change from the side that started Monday's 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic as Liam Cullen came in for Joe Allen.

Both sides went into the match having collected 10 of the last 12 points on offer, although the contrast in styles between the two was evident from the outset.

As anticipated, Swansea bossed possession from the word go, and their first opening came from a dangerous Joel Latibeaudiere cross, although Cullen was unable to latch on to Matt Grimes' poked pass.

In truth, despite hardly seeing the ball, Neil Warnock's side looked comfortable in containing the hosts, and they carried a threat from set-pieces, with Matty Pearson firing well over from 20 yards out before Michal Helik headed wide from a corner.

But both sides had huge chances either side of the half hour mark as Ben Cabango headed Manning's cross against the post, with Cullen heading over the rebound from point-blank range.
