Swansea boss Russell Martin disappointed by Stephen Kenny comments on Michael Obafemi situation

Swansea manager Russell Martin has expressed disappointment at Stephen Kenny's comments regarding Michael Obafemi's situation at club level.

Republic of Ireland boss Kenny has included the Swans striker in his 24-man squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Scotland and Armenia.

It comes at a time when Obafemi has been left out of Martin's most recent Swansea matchday squads, having been deemed not to be "in the right frame of mind" to play since being the subject of a bid by Burnley in the final hours of transfer deadline day.

Kenny addressed the situation on Thursday when he commented that "it's not ideal" that the 22-year-old, who scored a memorable long-range goal against Scotland in June, is not getting game-time at club level.

He also said: "I've spoken to Michael and like everything else there are two or three sides to every story. Certainly Michael wants to play football, he wants to play for Swansea."

Speaking at Swansea's Friday press conference, Martin welcomed the prospect of Obafemi receiving minutes on international duty but said he was disappointed by his Ireland counterpart's comments about there being "two to three sides to every story".
