Susanna Reid claps back at Good Morning Britain troll who branded her 'bad presenter'

Susanna Reid wasted no time in hitting back at trolls criticising her presenting skills following her latest stint on Good Morning Britain. The broadcaster was seen at the helm of the ITV news programme on Wednesday (July 12) alongside Ed Balls before being replaced by Kate Garraway on Thursday (July 13).

As ever, Susanna and Ed had a whole host of news headlines to deliver and tops to discuss throughout the show, from the more serious to the lighter, showbiz gossip. But there was one debate that appeared to irk some of those tuning in as the hosts and their guests discussed the Barbie film and whether the iconic character is a 'role model'.

Not too happy with the discussion, one unimpressed viewer took to Twitter to slam Susanna for discussing the much-anticipated movie in favour of more "serious" news.

"The fact you are talking about a Barbie which is a child’s film on a serious news show, shows the public how far your standards have fallen and how bad you have got as a presenter…," they tweeted at the GMB star.

And in a tweet for her 901k Twitter followers to see, Susanna clapped back. "We run a three hour show packed with serious and lighter news items, interviews and debates to appeal to a wide range of viewers," she typed back.

Susanna went on to say: "Barbie may not be the item that appeals to you, but it will to others. This year I was nominated for a BAFTA, RTS & TRIC award so it seems I’m getting better as a presenter," alongside a winking face emoji.

But she soon found herself having to respond to more people as they questioned her awards comments. "How many of those awards did you personally win?" one asked
