Supersport challenge awaits triple Tri-Options champ Day with Astro JJR Triumph

Having proved a force to be reckoned with in the Tri-Options Cup, Josh Day has his sights set on British Supersport for 2022.

The triple champion swaps two cylinders for three this season as he joins forces with Astro JJR Triumph in the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship. Completing the team’s three-rider lineup, Day joins Shane Richardson and Rhys Irwin on a factory-prepared Street Triple RS currently under build at the team’s Midlands HQ, with long-time sponsor Host-it Racing remaining on board.

“This couldn’t be any better for me, Supersport is really where I want to be,” Day explained. “I feel like I have unfinished business in the championship and I’m really looking forward to riding a Triumph again.

“I’m really grateful to Stuart and James from Astro JJR with the support from Triumph and would also like to personally thank Andrew and Host-It for once again believing in me. I am really looking forward to working with the team and the other great riders they have on board - here’s to a great year.”

“Josh will be a strong addition to the team,” Astro JJR Triumph co-Principle Stuart Tromans said. “His experience, attitude and all-round ability will benefit his own championship challenge as well as the set up and development of the new generation Triumph Street Triple RS. With Josh alongside Shane Richardson and Rhys Irwin, our Triple Threat for 2022 is ready!”
