Supermarket opening hours over Jubilee bank holiday weekend for Asda, Aldi, Lidl, Tesco and Morrisons

As we approach the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend, many supermarkets all across the country have announced they will be adjusting their hours.

The bank holiday period for the Jubilee will start on Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3. While the spring bank holiday is usually held on the final Monday of May it was pushed back to allow for the celebration of 70 years since the Queen took the throne.

While stores are not obliged to close or reduce times for the bank holiday, they will likely enforce reduced hours. It is more likely that you will see large supermarkets reduce their hours while smaller stores, such as Tesco Express, leaving their hours as usual.

While most of Asda's larger will be sticking to their regular opening times, the big 24 hours one will be closing at 10pm on June 2 and 3. Furthermore, many will open at 6am and close at 8pm on the following days with regular weekend hours applying.

Use Asda's store locator to find your local's hours.

Most Aldi locations will open at 8am and close at 10pm on the two bank holidays. Aldi announced it will be sticking to its usual opening hours for the rest of the Jubilee weekend.

Despite this, hours can vary depending on your location, to make sure you don't get caught out, try putting in your postcode into Aldi's store finder to find local opening and closing times.

Most of Lidl's stores will open at 8am and close at 8pm on both the bank holidays. On Saturday, the supermarket will open at 8am to 10 with usual Sunday hours applying on June 5.

However, hours can vary, make sure to check Lidl's store locator.

Most of Tesco's large supermarkets will operate under reduced hours
