Sunday sport: Croke Park double-header as Meath take on Galway and Armagh face Kerry

GAA

A place in the last four of the All Ireland Senior Football Championship is up for grabs in Croke Park on Saturday afternoon.

Meath are looking to appear in their first semi-final since 2009.

To do that, they need to find a way past Galway from 1:45pm.

Later, two heavyweights meet as Armagh continue their defence of Sam Maguire with a quarter-final clash against Kerry.

Paul Geaney and Paudie Clifford are among the Kingdom's replacements while Ben Crealey, Rory Grugan, and Oisín Conaty all return to the Armagh starting line-up.

Soccer

Republic of Ireland manager Carla Ward says they will learn more from their games against the USA than all of their Nations League games put together.

22-year old-Erin McLaughlin could make the starting eleven as Ward deals with a number of injuries to big stars.

Kick off in Cincinnati tonight is at 8pm.

Chelsea are into the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup after beating Benfica 4-1 after extra-time in North Carolina.

The game was suspended in the second half for two-hours because of thunderstorms in the area.

Enzo Maresca's side will now face Brazilian side Palmeiras who got past Botafogo 1-0 in Philadelphia.

Elsewhere today, it's Inter Miami versus PSG and Bayern Munich come up against Flamengo

Racing

All eyes will be on the Curragh this afternoon for the 160th running of the Irish Derby.

Aidan O'Brien sends out five of the ten runners as he aims to win one of the biggest races on the island for a record 17th time.

His mount Lambourn has been given the favourites tag with British trainer Ralph Beckett's raider Pride of Arras also well priced.
