Stunning highlights of Lionel Messi's incredible performance vs Italy in Finalissima

Lionel Messi was in incredible form as he inspired Argentina to a Finalissima victory over Italy at Wembley.

The Paris Saint-Germain star appeared back to his very best as he produced two assists in a convincing 3-0 victory.

It was his run and cross in the 28th-minute that set up Lautaro Martinez to open the scoring for Argentina.

Then after 90+4 minutes of brilliance, he forced the ball to Paulo Dybala in injury time to seal the victory.

It was far more than his two assists, though. Messi caused all sorts of problems for Italy throughout, showing off his incredible drilling and passing range.

Messi has now led Argentina to two international trophies in the space of 11 months, winning Copa America and now Finalissima – a new final between the European Championship winners and the Copa America winners.

La Albiceleste are also now unbeaten in 32 matches.
