'Strongest team' - Roma fans respond to Jose Mourinho comments on Leicester City

Leicester City face AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday evening in their crucial Europa Conference League semi-final second leg.

City are a win away from taking part in the inaugural Europa Conference League final as well as the club's maiden European final. Brendan Rodgers' side travel to Italy after a tense 1-1 draw in the first leg at the King Power Stadium a week ago.

Lorenzo Pellegrini gave Jose Mourinho's side the lead before Gianluca Mancini's own goal in the second half meant the teams go into tonight's game level. Speaking in his press conference ahead of the match, Roma manager Mourinho praised City and looked back on the club's achievements over recent years.

"What Leicester is doing is fantastic. Of course, what they did by winning the Premier League is amazing but after that, the club grows at every level," he said. "Arriving to now with one of the best training centres in Europe, the club is amazing."

Mourinho lavishing praise on City and pointing to their recent success has put some Roma fans on edge, with one fan writing on social media: "I am very pessimistic, I expect those who take the field to put their soul into those who have supported them for the whole season. If Leicester play better they will pass but they will have to sweat it out in the end." Another fan said: "Too bad because we got the strongest team in the semi-finals, even though we knew it would be difficult against anyone."

They are not all concerned, though. Another supporter said: "If Leicester has to go to the final, let them look back on this game as a nightmare!"
