Strictly's Angela Scanlon says this week is 'weird' after topping leaderboard

Strictly Come Dancing saw a breathtakingly in-time Charleston at the top of the leaderboard on Saturday (October 7). But while Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu stunned with their Movie Week dance, they have a different flavour in mind for the next programme.

Appearing on Strictly: It Takes Two with Janette Manrara tonight (Thursday), the pair revealed that they are next dancing the Viennese Waltz to You Are The Reason by Callum Scott and Leona Lewis. It's a change of pace for them from the Charleston, they agreed.

But with Angela being praised by the judges time and again for her 'pep' and 'bounce', the slowdown isn't necessarily her comfort zone. Something she was only too aware of when she was interviewed.

Angela told Janette: "On Monday when we started practicing it was like, oh my god, so that was a bit weird. It's very much about the story, this dance.

"There's been lots of laughter but trying to be a bit more inward looking."

Taking to X, the site formerly known as Twitter, Strictly fan Ryan Glendenning @RyanTheSoapking said: "For Week 4 Angela S & Carlos are dancing the V.Waltz to Give Me The Reason from Callum Scott. The first time that we'll see Angela and Carlos doing a slower dance.

"Angela has a lovely frame so she'll do well with this dance. I'm excited! #ItTakesTwo#Strictly"

There will be more glamour to Angela's outfit this weekend after her wig from the Damn Yankees dance saw her compared to social media star Charity Shop Sue. The online star even turned up on Strictly ITT to send Angela and Carlos all the best.
