Strictly's Amy Dowden tells fans 'I'm not ready for this' after heartbreaking hair loss

Amy Dowden has told her fans she's 'not ready' after sharing an update on her chemotherapy. The Strictly Come Dancing star, who joined the BBC dance contest as a professional back in 2017, revealed she had been diagnosed with stage three breast cancer earlier this year. S

Ever since her heartbreaking diagnosis, the 33-year-old has been sharing updates with her fans and followers and most recently shared how she was feeling after her second round of chemotherapy. Taking to her Instagram page on Thursday (August 24), the dancer revealed she has had blood clots following her cancer treatment.

Sharing a photo whilst recovering, Amy wore a black cap and grey hoodie as she told her 480,000 followers: "And I’m going home to my own bed! Thanks again to the marvellous NHS! Got some blood clots but I’m feeling good other than a sore and swollen arm.

The Welsh dancer continued: "Another hurdle along this journey. But again forever grateful to the nhs and my heroes around me. Can’t wait to get into my own bed since Monday though."

Fellow Strictly stars and friends flooded the comments with support. Professional dancer Gorka Marquez wrote: "you got this @amy_dowden," with two red heart emojis, while Stacey Dooley, who won 2018's Strictly, commented a red heart.

Helen Skelton, who made it to the dance competition's 2022 final with Gorka, added a string of red heart emojis. Meanwhile John Whaite, Strictly 2021 runner-up, wrote: "much love to you Amy," with two red heart emojis.
