Storm Eunice: Friday forecast for every borough in Greater Manchester hour-by-hour

Greater Manchester is preparing to be battered by strong winds as Storm Eunice is set to hit the region.

On Friday, some boroughs across the conurbation are expected to see wind gusts of up to 58mph.

An amber weather warning for wind has been issued for much of Greater Manchester from 5am today until 9pm tonight.

The worst effects of Storm Eunice are expected in the south west of the country, where a rare red 'danger to life' warning has been issued.

Wind speeds of up to 95mph are expected in some of the most exposed locations.

The Met Office has warned that flying debris could cause some danger, while damage to buildings and homes due to the strong winds is also likely.

People across the region are being urged not to travel unless it is necessary due to the danger posed by the storm.
