Man City legend Sergio Aguero reunites with Lionel Messi in deal to rival David de Gea

Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero has reunited with Lionel Messi as part of a new business venture. KRU Esports was set up by Aguero in 2020. It is a streaming setup that started broadcasting video games during the lockdown period.

Aguero’s hands-on management of the business has increased after the Argentine was forced to retire in 2021. He was diagnosed with heart problems following his move to Barcelona.

His partnership with Messi will allow for a greater expansion of the business and they will be able to reunite their partnership. They played together for their country but never had the opportunity to link up on the club scene.

"I'm happy to share a club with Leo, of course now in a new stage and with other challenges," Aguero said of Messi. "It's an honour to have him as a part of KRÜ. He's the best footballer in history, and he's also a great friend. He is a figure who inspires everyone and will be a great addition to the scene as a whole."

KRU Esports involved the streaming of different games such as Rocket League and Valorant. It has grown massively since forming and the business’ teams have competed in major e-sports competitions.

The announcement has reportedly prompted David de Gea to invite former Manchester United team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo to join up with his brand Rebels Gaming, a rival company to Aguero's, reports the Sun.

Messi will have a lot of things to think about post-football when he eventually decides to hang up his boots. The 36-year-old is starring for Inter Miami, however, and he has recently won his eighth Balon D'Or.
