Stone Cold Steve Austin: Kevin Owen fuels WrestleMania match with Rattlesnake

Kevin Owens has continued his tirade against the state of Texas with an expected WrestleMania match with Stone Cold Steve Austin being planned by WWE.

On last week’s Monday Night Raw we saw KO continue his verbal assault on Texas – the host state of this year’s WrestleMania – and it became clear following reports after the show that the reason he’s been doing it is the possible return of Steve Austin.

While Austin’s in-ring return is yet to be confirmed, it hasn’t stopped Owens from continuing to berate the Rattlesnake’s home state. Taking to Twitter yesterday to reply to a tweet asking what he thinks of Victoria, Texas, replying ‘sounds like a really lame place.’

Sounds like a really lame place. https://t.co/2aZgz4TP7M

Victoria of course, is the place that Stone Cold Steve Austin is billed from – even though he’s from Austin – adding yet more fuel to Owen’s expected date with the WWE Hall of Famer in Dallas.

If Austin does make a WrestleMania return it would mark his first WWE match for twenty years, since losing to The Rock at WrestleMania XIX. He has since made sporadic appearances and dealt out a flurry of Stunners to WWE superstars but has not laced up the boots since 2003.

If Austin vs. Owens is added to the WrestleMania card it will join the big title vs. title bout between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, Charlotte Flair defending her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey and Bianca Belair looking to exact revenge on Becky Lynch and her Raw Women’s Championship.

Also rumoured to be added are The Miz and Logan Paul vs. The Mysterios, Drew McIntyre vs. Happy Corbin and Sami Zayn putting his newly won Intercontinental Championship on the line against Jack Ass star Johnny Knoxville.
