Stone Cold Steve Austin accepts Kevin Owens' WWE WrestleMania challenge

Stone Cold Steve Austin has said that he’ll be at WWE WrestleMania 38 to confront former Universal Champion Kevin Owens.

On last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Kevin Owens called out Stone Cold Steve Austin and urged the WWE Hall of Famer to be at WrestleMania 38.

For several weeks now, Owens has been ragging on Texas, Austin’s home state, and the wrestling legend has had enough.

Austin will be at WrestleMania to take part in a special KO Show segment with Owens, accepting the former NXT star’s challenge in a video posted to Twitter this afternoon.

In the video, Austin spoke about how Owens had unlocked something inside of him that had been asleep for 19 years, since his retirement at WrestleMania XIX.

For those who are unaware, Austin’s last match came in April 2003 against The Rock, and it had been rumoured that WWE was looking to get the 57-year-old out of retirement for a match on the show.

However, it doesn’t seem like an official match is going to happen, although that could change, with Austin instead expected to just have a segment with Owens at WrestleMania.

The segment is almost certainly going to get physical, with Austin likely to hit Owens with a Stunner, much to the delight of the fans at A&T Stadium in Texas.

Again, while a match wasn’t made official, it’s not totally out of the question to think that this could change between now and April, so stay tuned to GiveMeSport for potential updates on that front.

Many fans have been praising WWE and Stone Cold Steve Austin for the video uploaded to social media, with it reminding many of just how brilliant a promo the former WWE Champion is.
