Stoke City receive clear message after Newcastle transfer link emerges

Stoke City fans have made their feelings clear after Dwight Gayle re-emerged as a transfer target in this summer's window.

The striker has previously been heavily linked with a move to the bet365, but at the time made the switch to The Hawthorns to play for West Bromwich Albion on loan. Now Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is apparently seeking to offload the 32-year-old following a raft of new signings.

Michael O'Neill is keen to bring in more attacking players and increase the side's goals tally ahead of the new season. Gayle, though, is not short of potential suitors by all accounts, with Birmingham City, Middlesbrough, Huddersfield, Preston, Reading and Millwall all said to be keeping tabs on him.
