Stoke City injury latest ahead of Blues clash as striker faces fitness test

Stoke City manager Michael O'Neill has given an update on his side's fitness ahead of hosting Birmingham City this Saturday (3pm).

Blues will make the trip to the bet365 Stadium on the back of a 3-0 win over Luton Town in their last outing.

The Potters meanwhile, shared the spoils against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in a 2-2 draw, and will look to return to winning ways on home soil.

Ahead of the match, here are the latest injury news as per StokeOnTrentLive...

O'Neill revealed Nick Powell will undergo a fitness test tomorrow to determine his involvement after the 27-year-old limped out at Forest with a hamstring strain.

While forward Tyrese Campbell will come back into contention after damaging his knee in a mid-week win over Swansea earlier this month.

The 22-year-old has returned to training over the last couple of days and is hopeful of being involved.

"Nick Powell will have a fitness test in the morning," O'Neill confirmed.

"Tyrese has trained the last two days, which is good, so unless there's a reaction overnight from Tye he will come into consideration for tomorrow.

"Mario [Vrančić] is close to joining back in training.

"Romaine [Sawyers] has been training this week. We've just got to see where he's at. It's probably a little bit too soon but we'll have to make a decision on that.

"Abdallah Sima returns to the club on Monday having been at Brighton for groin surgery and rehabilitation.

"Harry [Souttar] is the long-term injury at this minute in time."
