Stockport street shut as air ambulance lands following 'serious collision'

Officers have taped off a busy town centre street in Stockport. Police are at the scene of a 'serious collision' on Great Underbank.

Emergency services were called out to the scene at around 10am. An air ambulance was seen landing close to the street earlier today.

The road remains taped off this afternoon (May 31). The Manchester Evening News understands the incident is being investigated by Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit.

A GMP spokesman said: "At around 10am today (May, 31 2024) officers responded to reports of a road traffic collision on The Great Underbank, Stockport. Officers and other emergency services remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing."
