Stirling keeper Currie the hero as Binos remain on track with hot League One start

Stirling Albion boss Darren Young insists his charges are right on track after an excellent comeback against Hamilton lifted the Binos to third in the League One table.

The Forthbank side will enjoy a much-needed hiatus from action this weekend for the international break, but will go into things on a high after bouncing back from a tough start to inflict the first dropped points of the season on the Accies.

The visitors made an impressive start and deservedly went two goals up, before Josh Cooper’s strike gave the Binos hope right on the eve of the half-time whistle.

Kyle Banner then sealed a fabulous come-from-behind point with a late header, before Blair Currie sprung into action to repel Kevin O’Hara from the spot in stoppage time.

Binos boss Young praised his side for bouncing back after admitting they got a “doing” in the opening stretches of the game.

The manager said: “We get the goal back just before half-time in the first bit of play that we manage to put some passes together and that gave us a wee bit of oomph going into the second half.

“We brought in another midfielder at half-time and we felt that helped stem the attacks.

“There is still maybe a little bit of a lack of belief at times which is hard to say but when we go and get it down and pass it, we can cope at this level.

“The shape was better after we changed it at half-time and then we go and get an unbelievable goal at the end with Kyle taking a gamble from midfield.

“I’m delighted for Blair because he’s been struggling with his hip and he was joking that if the guy had went the other way, he was screwed!

“The break has probably come at the right time for us, there are a few guys who need a bit of rest and recovery.
