Stirling Albion boss admits side is "hurting" after late defeat at Kelty Hearts

Stirling Albion boss Darren Young admits his side were left “hurting” in the dressing room after a second late goal in as many games cost them a point at Kelty.

The Binos were behind the eight ball for much of the second half after Josh Cooper’s red card – but were well on course for a share of the spoils in Fife until Lewis Moore’s 89th minute screamer blotted the visitors’ copybook.

It’s another blow for Stirling after conceding late in their previous home outing with Falkirk, with the Binos now battling a run of form that has seen them win only once in the league in their last seven matches.

The Stirling manager acknowledged the importance of Cooper’s red card in turning the tables – and also urged his side to be more ruthless in front of goal.

Young said: “It’s a sucker punch after doing so well with ten men. It’s a brilliant strike from the guy but from our point of view, I’m wanting us to show him wide.

“We’ve done that for the whole half and then in the last minute, he cuts inside which he can’t do if we get him wide.

“I can’t ask any more in terms of effort from the players, we’ve got a great chance with Spenny [Greig Spence] in the middle of the goal that he knows he has to score.

“I’ve got no complaints about the sending off, I thought it was a red at the time and we put ourselves under pressure because we were probably the better team in the game until the red card.
