'Stick together' - Marcus Rashford issues defiant message after Man United loss vs Liverpool

Marcus Rashford has urged everyone to stick together after Manchester United were thrashed 7-0 by Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp's men were rampant against the Reds and secured their biggest-ever competitive win against United. Erik ten Hag's side, meanwhile, have now gone eight games without a win at Liverpool, where they have only won three times since December 2007.

Rashford struggled to impact the clash and found it difficult up against Virgil van Dijk. However, he has insisted that United must not let the disappointing loss define their season, which has already seen them win the Carabao Cup. The England ace also claimed that it was vital the players continued to trust the process under Ten Hag at Old Trafford.

"I wish we could play a game today to try and put things right," Rashford wrote on Twitter. "The result is the result, and we can’t see past that! We must not let it define our season. We have to trust the process and stick together."

The 25-year-old has registered 25 goals and nine assists in all competitions for the Reds this season, including 14 strikes in the Premier League. Despite failing to get on the scoresheet at Anfield, he still remains joint-third in the goalscoring charts.

For United, they will have the chance to bounce back on Thursday night. The Reds welcome Spanish side Real Betis to Old Trafford for the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie.
