Stevie McKenna eyes on Josh Taylor after Darren Tetley victory

Monaghan boxer Stevie McKenna claimed an impressive victory as he defeated England's Darren Tetley in London.

Bradford fighter Tetley fought for the vacant English welterweight two years ago, losing to Samuel Antwi, and was considered a tricky opponent despite three losses in his last five bouts.

McKenna though dominated proceedings at York Hall, winning all six rounds before Tetley was pulled out by his corner.

The win moved McKenna to 14-0-0, including 13 knockouts, and afterwards he called out former undisputed super lightweight champion Josh Taylor.

The Scot responded on X, formerly Twitter, describing McKenna as nothing more than a sparring partner.

Caroline Dubois became the new IBO lightweight champion after beating Magali Rodriguez by unanimous decision.

Afterwards, speaking to Sky Sports, she set her sights on the winner of the upcoming Katie Taylor-Chantelle Cameron bout.

"Katie Taylor and Chantelle Cameron are tied off but when they are available for me I'll come out and take it. I'll be 'and the new.'"
