Steven Gerrard told he didn’t win Rangers the title as fans declare mutiny on the Hotline
Steven Gerrard talk continues to dominate as Rangers hunt for a new boss.
49ers Enterprises are closing in on their takeover at Ibrox but that hasn't stopped the manager hunt escalating with the Liverpool legend and former Light Blues boss the big name dominating the headlines.
He is the last manager to win the league for Rangers as they went Invincible and stopped Celtic from winning 10-in-a-row.
But one Hotline punter emailed in to state it WASN'T Gerrard who won the league and was in fact Celtic's own doing.
Andrew Curran emailed: "Steven Gerrard and Rangers didn't WIN the 55 and stop Celtic's 10 in-a-row, it was Neil Lennon and the Celtic board who refused to give a world class international Scottish goalkeeper a new contract who was only asking for a small increase in salary. Instead, they signed a Greek ball watcher who as a goalkeeper was totally useless. THAT was the reason Celtic lost the 10."
Gerrard's potential arrival - like Rodgers on his return to Celtic - is bound to split opinion due to the nature of his exit for Aston Villa in the English Premier League. And one fan is adamant they won't be putting their season book money in if he returns.
Frank Jackson emailed: "As it now seems possible Rangers will back track and re employ Slippy G, then that’s the end of 70 years of me going to Govan. Not renewed the season ticket yet just in case. If he comes I am off to a club that might need my contribution."
Philip Borland emailed: "Celtic fans will be having a great laugh at us bringing Gerrard back. His time as a manager is terrible he won one trophy in three years at Rangers.
"Aston Villa sacked him after 11 months and Al-Ettifaq told him to walk away from the club so why do we want him back?
"I want a
