Steven Gerrard returns to Liverpool fold as buzzing legend texts him to find out if it's true

In-demand Steven Gerrard will return to Liverpool this weekend and iconic team-mate Fernando Torres cannot wait to reignite their incredible bond.

The legendary Anfield skipper will once again lead a legends side as the Reds take on Ajax. it comes 12 months after Gerrard scored against Celtic with his goal celebration sparking apoplexy in the away end as missiles rained down on him. The former Rangers boss has recently breathed new life into his management career with Al-Ettifaq finding form and now returns home to meet his adoring public.

And Torres – who forged an incredible bond with Gerrard before joining Chelsea – is chomping at the bit to get back on the pitch with a player who teed up a plethora of assists during their five years together on Merseyside.
