Steven Gerrard coy on Rangers transfer raid as James Tavernier Ibrox exit countdown started after Saudi puzzler

Steven Gerrard insists "everything is on the table" when it comes to Al-Ettifaq signings this summer with Rangers duo James Tavernier and Connor Goldson on his radar this summer.

Record Sport revealed in March that both captain Tavernier and stalwart Goldson were on Gerrard's wanted list at Ettifaq this summer as he looks to improve on a sixth place finish in the Saudi Pro League next summer - and the buzz over a deal has only ramped up in the Middle East with Philippe Clement proclaiming he will clear out the Ibrox dressing room to kickstart a new era.

Ettifaq haven't been shy in splashing the cash with Jack Hendry, Moussa Dembele, Gini Wijnaldum, Demarai Gray and Jordan Henderson - before he made a hasty return to Europe to join Ajax - all coming int the door. The Liverpool legend rounded off the campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Al-Taawoun and was quickly put on the spot about his future at his press confernce following the full-time whistle.

He was quizzed about the upcoming incoming and exits of players - with Tavernier and Goldson being heavily linked - he said: "My team's players certainly have very great potential but everything is on the table. Now we are at the end of the season, we will put all the matters in order to discuss them with the club’s management, and all the files will be put in place and all talks will be on the table."

And while Tavernier could present a big loss to Rangers going into next season, former star Derek Ferguson has questioned why the skipper wouldn't join Gerrard in Saudi if a deal was on the table. After Tavernier ended the campaign having only lifted the League Cup with a winless record against Celtic, the pundit reckons time may be up at Ibrox the 32-year-old.
