Steven Davis in international record as Rangers star breaks British cap record with Northern Ireland

Steven Davis will break the British cap record when the Rangers veteran leads out Northern Ireland against Kosovo.

Turning 38 next year, the midfielder is still turning out on a regular basis for his nation whom he is record appearance holder for.

He leads the way out of all the British players who have represented any of the four nations in terms of appearances made with tonight his 137th bow for his country.

Davis made his debut back in 2005 against Canada and has displayed no signs of slowing down, despite his career reaching its twilight.

The Nations League appearance caps off a great couple of weeks for the playmaker who penned a one-year contract extension at Rangers earlier this month.

Boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst rates Davis' contributions to his side and has opted to keep him around until 2023, despite reported interested from Premiership clubs Motherwell and St Mirren.

He'll report back for pre-season training with the Ibrox side this summer after helping them lift the Scottish Cup in May.
