Steve Morison makes transfer revelation about striker after he seals Cardiff City switch
Steve Morison pulled off a number of attacking signings to see out the January transfer window, with one of them being Uche Ikpeazu on a loan deal until the summer.
The Middlesbrough man will now see out the rest of the campaign with the Bluebirds and manager Morison told Wales Online that he was very happy to get his man, even admitting that there were ‘offers elsewhere’ but he instead chose the move to Wales.
The side are currently in the bottom half of the table and after sliding down the division under Mick McCarthy, they have been left with a lot of ground to make up. Whilst Morison initially had a good impact on the squad, they have recently struggled to pick up points again.
However, having now had a full January window to be able to tinker the team to his liking, he can now tackle the second half of the campaign head on and hopefully pick up more points now he has more of the personnel that he wants.
While Ikpeazu didn’t feature in Cardiff’s win over Nottingham Forest – he hadn’t signed at that point – Jordan Hugill did and made an immediate impact, bagging a goal in the Bluebirds’ victory over Nottingham Forest.
Ikpeazu will be hoping to do similar when he gets on the field – and Morison is certainly delighted to have the striker at the club, revealing that he turned down offers from afar to join up with Cardiff.
Speaking to Wales Online, Morison said: “He will bring everything you saw from him at the end of last season. For me, it’s a fantastic signing. We spoke to Boro at the start of the window but that wasn’t feasible because they wanted a permanent and that didn’t materialise.
“We had it on the backburner and we were looking into it and once Kieffer forced that through it made sense. He had offers elsewhere
