Steve Morison calls out rough treatment of Cardiff City star by West Brom players

Cardiff City manager Steve Morison was left unimpressed with Sheyi Ojo's rough treatment at the hands of West Brom on Tuesday night.

The Bluebirds boss was even more perplexed with the booking handed to the attacker who was on the end of some extremely physical challenges during the 0-0 draw at the Hawthorns.

The England U21 international is known for his quick feet, pace and his driving runs which pierce opposition defences, which may explain why he was a target throughout the game.

Morison called out his unfair treatment in the press conference following the match, saying: “Apparently it's okay to just wipe him out and swipe him a number of times? But then he makes one tackle and gets booked. It wasn’t once, it was three times."

Ojo was the star man for Cardiff, impressing with his driving runs that got the Bluebirds up the pitch and often released the pressure being applied by the home side. His attempt from the edge of the box was close to finding the bottom corner and he received a standing ovation from the travelling supporters as he left the pitch shattered.

Morison revealed how the coaches have been working with Ojo to improve his all round game, adding: “It’s the stuff without the ball that we needed to work with him on. We showed him it and tonight he did it and it gave him the opportunity then to do the stuff with the ball.

"To be honest with you, the way he was carrying the ball and some of the things that went on when he was carrying the ball were amazing.”
