Steve Cooper sent Nottingham Forest transfer instruction after Notts County draw

Nottingham Forest have just one pre-season game to go until they are in Premier League action. The Reds took on City rivals Notts County in the last but one friendly on Tuesday night.

Steve Cooper took a much changed side to Meadow Lane as they continued their preparations for the Premier League season. Forest now have one last pre-season test against Spanish side Valencia at the City Ground on Saturday.

The game against Notts ended in a 2-2 draw with Cafu scoring a brilliant free-kick for Forest. Forward Sam Surridge was also on the scoresheet as Forest's pre-season campaign continued.

After the game, Forest fans took to social media to give their thoughts on the performance of some of the club’s fringe players. Here’s what some had to say.

: Entertaining game for a friendly. Useful run out for the fringe players (I’m sure some will depart). Be amazed if Notts don’t challenge for promotion. Got some decent players. #NFFC

: Mbe soh and Mighten definitely need to go out on loan and get game time. #nffc

: A lot of these U23 need to get good loan moves before the season starts, and Mighten too.. #NFFC

: This game shows how vital loans are for young players' careers. They are far too weak, they need to be playing men's football. #nffc

: Death, taxes & Surridge curling one in far post. #NFFC

: Would be quite fitting for that to be Cafu’s goodbye, he’s a top bloke from what we can see, but good enough, he is not. #NFFC

: Pleasing to see Yates & Surridge on the field again. Mbe Soh looks in tip top physical condition. Oli Hammond & Dale Taylor with some neat turns & touches. Good run-out #NFFC
