Steve Clarke gets Jury verdict over 4 big Scotland calls and Celtic fans told they're living in dreamland

MICHAEL GANNON: Souttar has been unlucky with injuries so couldn’t be risked. The Gordon call looks extremely harsh. Liam Kelly is the future and will benefit from going, but, for me, Gordon is still one of our best keepers – if not the best. Clarke knows best but I would take him to Germany.

ANDY NEWPORT: I’d have taken Gordon but in all honesty, picking the third choice keeper isn’t a major call. Barring disaster Angus Gunn will play every minute in Germany. Souttar would have no luck were it not for the bad stuff he’s continually clobbered with but given the injury issues we’ve already faced, Clarke can take no more risks.

FRASER WILSON: A goalkeeper had to go but if you asked me who I’d want between sticks if Angus Gunn got crocked then Gordon would have been the next choice. Seven centre halves was too many aswell and Souttar’s injury-hit end to the campaign has clearly taken its toll.

MICHAEL: Not really, but they will fill the holes in the squad. Dykes is a huge loss as he would have played a major role. Doak could have been an exciting wild card to chuck in. But Conway and Morgan are in form and have just been handed golden tickets. We are well short in the front areas and they might end up unlikely heroes.

ANDY: Unlikely. Much like Liam Kelly, they are there in case an asteroid wipes out half the squad. Clarke will stick by the regulars who have served him so well.

FRASER: Conway is an exciting addition and certainly has that gallus streak required for the big occasion. But he’ll very much be third choice to lead the line and nobody can fill that battering ram ability of Dykes unfortunately. The Morgan addition was a surprise. Kilmarnock’s Danny Armstrong would have been my pick.

MICHAEL: Gray has looked ready
