Steve Bruce gives positive West Brom injury update ahead of Huddersfield Town clash

According to Joe Chapman on Twitter, Bruce has claimed that Dike has returned to training this morning.

Dike injured his hamstring in his first league start for the club in January.

The American forward arrived for £7 million but has only made one start for the club as the team’s form has spiralled.

This will be a much welcome return, but it remains to be seen when he can make his comeback to action on the pitch for the Baggies.

Bruce is also hopeful that Alex Mowatt will be able to take to the pitch tomorrow evening against Huddersfield Town after picking up a niggle.

“Been to see Bruce this morning. Dike training this morning and nearing a return. Mowatt has a niggle but Bruce is hopeful of having him available for tomorrow,” wrote Chapman.

West Brom have had a difficult start to 2022 with the club’s form collapsing, injured players and managerial changes.

Bruce will be hoping that Dike’s return and the victory over Hull City last weekend can be a catalyst for kick-starting the side’s season.

West Brom host Huddersfield Town on Friday night at the Hawthorns.

Dike getting injured right as he arrived at the club was an unfortunate signal of where things were going to go for West Brom.

It certainly signalled the end of Valerien Ismael’s time at the club, as his big new signing couldn’t come in to turn around the side’s form.

With 10 games remaining in the season, West Brom need to recover an eight point gap to the play-off places.

Bruce will be hoping Dike can have an immediate impact as we approach the business end of the season.
