Stephen Robinson uses Aberdeen example to show Scottish football is alive and well as Derek Adams verdict dissected

Stephen Robinson insists Derek Adams can fire daggers at Scottish football all he wants - but the St Mirren manager doesn't need to cross the street to know what the game can really bring.

The Ross County boss' comments on the poor standard of the Premiership following his return to Dingwall from English League Two side Morecambe have turned heads and sparked debate. He later reneged on his comments made after the 1-0 loss to Dundee earlier this month, insisting it was based on the five games his team had played under his tenure up until that point.

Two of them were against Robinson's Buddies but speaking ahead of a Premiership clash at Aberdeen, the Northern Irishman has no time for such opinions. He says the work of the Dons in Europa Conference League action plus Rangers and Celtic's endeavours show the best side of Scottish football. "It doesn't bother me. I have my own opinions. I have no interest to be honest. I have been in Scottish football a long time and managed in England as well. There are lots of bad games in both leagues at times due to conditions, weather, pitches, whatever it may be.

"I look at Scottish football as a whole. Rangers topped their (Europa League) group, Celtic beat Feyenoord
