Stephanie Meadow secures spot at Open Championship

Stephanie Meadow has secured a spot at this week's AIG Women's Open at St Andrews.

The Antrim woman was one of 12 players to emerge from the field of 92 who took part in the single round at Craighead links.

She finished on one-under par in a 12-way tie for 10th place after 18 holes, meaning that a play-off was required to decide the final three qualifiers.

Alongside Jodi Ewart Shadoff and Ursula Wikstrom, Meadow secured a spot at St Andrews after parring holes 1, 17 and 18.

She will join the already-qualified Leona Maguire and Lauren Walsh at the fifth and final major of the year.

Annabel Dimmock was also involved in today's qualifying but missed out after shooting a six-over-par round of 78.

The other players to secure their places were Weiwei Zhang, Casandra Alexander, Annabell Fuller, Kristen Gillman, Emma Grechi, Lauren Hartlage, Noora Komulainen, Lee-Anne Pace and Patricia Schmidt.
