Stefano Domenicali reveals huge early interest in Las Vegas Grand Prix next season

Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has said that there has been huge early interest in the scheduled Las Vegas Grand Prix for 2023.

F1 is making a serious play to get more coverage in the US, with three races set to be hosted by the country from next season – more than any other nation.

Indeed, the US Grand Prix in Austin has become a popular staple on the calendar, whilst the inaugural Miami Grand Prix was hosted last Sunday with plenty of razzmatazz.

Both will be on the schedule again next season, then, but they will be joined by a third US-based race with Las Vegas scheduled in for November 2023.

Indeed, the news was revealed earlier this year and many are excited to see what a Vegas Grand Prix will look like, with the circuit set to take in many of the city’s iconic venues and veer very much away from the race around the Caesar’s Palace car park which hosted a few races in the early 80s.

The interest in the race appears off the scale, too, with Domenicali revealing what the early intrigue and requests have been like around the Grand Prix:

“Looking towards the 2023 season, we announced the debut of the Las Vegas Grand Prix for November 2023.

“This will be a Saturday night race down the iconic strip. We cannot think of a more perfect marriage of speed and glamour.

“Staging a third race in the US demonstrates the huge appeal and growth of our sport here.

“In fact, in the 24 hours following the official announcement Wynn’s Las Vegas and Encore resort saw more requests for hotel room reservations than any other one day period in their history.

“We also saw the announcement generate four times more social media activity than the 2024 Vegas Super Bowl announcement.”
