Steam Deck Update: Release Date and Patch Notes

Valve has released a major Steam Deck update, adding security features like a lock screen and pin-based lock to the handheld console.

With the Steam Deck now being out in the wild, Valve has continuously supported the handheld gaming device with frequent updates. The latest update is here and it’s quite a major one, packing in several major improvements and quality of life changes.

The highlight of Steam Deck’s newest update is the lock screen feature that now allows users to secure their device via a PIN based lock. The feature is completely optional and allows users to set a PIN when the Steam Deck wakes or boots up, or when logging in or switching to Desktop mode.

The update also brings extended dock and charging support, quick access menu tools and other new features. It has also improved battery life in some cases.
