India vs Denmark, Thomas Cup Semi-final 2022: With the semi-final tie levelled at 1-1, Kidambi Srikanth one the first game against Anders Antonsen at the Impact Stadium in Thailand. Earlier, Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy defeated Kim Astrup and Mathias Christiansen in a thriller as India levelled the ongoing Thomas Cup semi-final tie against Denmark.

After winning the first set 21-18, the Indian pair dropped two match points in the second as the Danish pair forced a decider. However, in the third set, Satwik and Chirag held their nerves to put India on level terms.

In the opening match, Viktor Axelsen defeated Lakshya Sen in straight games 21-13, 21-13 to give Denmark a strong start in the tie. Indian men's team created history as the likes of HS Prannoy, Kidambi Srikanth, and Satwik-Chirag led the team to their first semi-final in 43 years and confirmed the first medal for India at the Thomas Cup.

With quarterfinals tie against Malaysia tied at 2-2, HS Prannnoy won the deciding match, beating Leong Jun Hao in straight games as the Indian men's team ran onto the court celebrating the historic feat. Denmark, on the other hand, had to shrug off a tough challenge against South Korea.
