Here are some of the new and revised statistics coming out of the Canadian Grand Prix.

Stats and figures

Verstappen's second win around the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve was his 41st in Formula 1. He crossed the finish line almost 10 seconds ahead of Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso.

For the Red Bull team, the win was their 100th in F1. They have become only the fifth team in the sport's history to reach this number. Along with Mercedes, Red Bull is only the second team to achieve it in the last 26 years.

In 2019, Mercedes won the opening eight races of the season. Red Bull matched it in Canada in 2023 and will now be chasing McLaren's outright 1988 record of 11 wins in a row since the season started.

Since taking the lead from teammate Sergio Perez in Miami, Verstappen has led every lap of every race since. He also becomes the first driver since Sebastian Vettel (2012) to lead three consecutive races from lights to flag. The Canadian Grand Prix was also the 27th successive race Verstappen finished - besting all the drivers on the current grid.

Interestingly, Alonso's second-place finish was his sixth podium of the year. It is double the amount he tallied in the last seven seasons combined!

Lewis Hamilton's third-place finish in Montreal is the eighth circuit where the seven-time champion finished on the podium 10 times. He has won in Canada seven times - equal to Michael Schumacher.

Alex Albon's seventh place was the Williams team's best result since George Russell secured second place in Belgium in 2021. However, half-points were awarded on the day. Therefore, Albon's result
