State-of-the-art padel courts to open less than an hour’s drive from Manchester

A new padel park allowing people to try their hand at a hugely popular new racket sport that is taking the UK by storm is opening less than an hour away from Manchester.

Pure Padel has opened its first flagship club in the UK at Alderley Park, in Macclesfield, which will provide state-of-the-art facilities for people to practise the racket sport. Originated in Mexico and sometimes referred to as padel tennis, the sport is described as a mix between tennis and squash. Andy Murray and Serena Williams are amongst famous fans of the sport.

Three separate enclosed padel courts have been created within Alderley Park’s existing health and fitness facility, Everybody @ Alderley Park, which can be booked out by anyone to use.

A group of handpicked, first-class coaches will be fronting up the new facility, helping train up the next big names in padel and offer advice to new starters. There will also be a bespoke padel kiosk where guests will be able to access lockers, vending machines, shaded seating, products and merchandise.

The courts are now open at the 400-acre site, which is owned, managed and developed by Bruntwood SciTech. Alderley Park is also home to a science and tech campus offering over 1m square feet of office and lab space.

The park also has a wide range of amenities including a conference centre complete with a 232 seat auditorium and meeting rooms, as well as a gym and outdoor sports pitches.
