It was the Sky Blues ’ fourth clean sheet, having only conceded three in their warm-up schedule during which they have bagged a whopping 22 goals, albeit eight of those coming against Wolves’ under-23s.
Pre-season results don’t mean a jot, of course, and it’s next week when the matches begin to matter. But City can take plenty of confidence into the new campaign from the fact they’ve been scoring plenty of goals and are already in the habit of winning games ahead of their third season back at Championship level.
