Stanford named among US Solheim Cup assistants

Angela Stanford has been named as an assistant captain for the United States' 2023 Solheim Cup team.

Stanford, a six-time member of the US team, joins Morgan Pressel and Natalie Gulbis as assistants to Stacy Lewis.

Captain Lewis said: "I've known Angela for a long time and I'm so happy that she agreed to work with me at the 2023 Solheim Cup.

"Angela has a great eye for statistics, finding the little details that go into picking the best players and making the right line-up combinations."

Stanford said: "I am extremely honoured and excited to be part of Stacy's team in 2023.

"Anyone who knows me knows how much I love the Solheim Cup, and I'm so happy to represent my country again."

Europe have won the last two Solheim Cup matches, and will defend the trophy at Finca Cortesin in Spain next September.
