Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke has presided over a third triumph in the United States after seeing the Colorado Avalanche claim the Stanley Cup.

The NHL outfit saw off Tampa Bay Lightning 4-2 to wrap-up the seven-game series with an outing to spare. It is their first success in just over two decades and continues a stellar year for the US businessman. The 74-year-old invests in a host of teams across several different sports.

Another of those is Colorado Mammoth, a lacrosse team founded in 2003. They claimed national glory by winning the second title in their history, beating the Buffalo Bandits earlier this summer in a best of three series. Kroenke's most high profile triumph came in the Super Bowl.

He upped and moved his NFL franchise from St Louis to Los Angeles back in 2016 and they saw off the Cincinnati Bengals earlier this year. The Rams claimed victory at their own home, the SoFi Stadium, a 70,000-arena that was recently built and will host games at the World Cup in 2026.

Kroenke said after the Rams' success: “It’s amazing, and I’m just really proud of this group. It was a tough game, and I’m just so proud of them executing at the end like they did.”
