Stan Collymore makes Nottingham Forest plea ahead of huge Bournemouth clash

Former Nottingham Forest midfielder Stan Collymore has issued a huge rallying call to Steve Cooper's squad ahead of their promotion clash with Bournemouth on Tuesday evening.

Forest travel to the Vitality Stadium this evening to take on Bournemouth who currently occupy the second automatic promotion place in the Championship. Scott Parker's squad hold a three-point advantage over the Reds, who currently sit in third, but a win today would see Steve Cooper's side leapfrog the Cherries due to their superior goal difference, which is split by just one goal.

Ahead of the game, former midfielder Collymore has issued a rallying cry via his personal Twitter account to inspire Cooper and his squad. He stated: "Good luck to the players and staff and of @NFFC this evening. Take this club and these supporters back to where they belong and write your own chapter in this great club's history. May the ghosts of Garribaldi's (sic) past guide you."

Collymore played for Forest from 1993 to 1995 and experienced a similar situation to the one that faces the East Midlands club this evening. Collymore's last minute winner saw Forest beat Peterborough United 3-2 in 1994, which led to them securing a second place finish and automatic promotion to English football's top flight.
