Multiple champions of the yearly Council of British International Schools (COBIS) Games, St Saviour’s School, Lagos, will head to Kenya for this year’s tournament with the sole aim of reclaiming the title they last won in 2019.
For the first time, the 2024 COBIS Primary Schools Games will hold in Africa and will be hosted by Braeburn Mombasa International School in Kenya from March 25 to 27. It will feature schools from across the globe competing in athletics, swimming and football.
The five-time COBIS Primary School Games Champions and triple World School Games champions, won the overall titles at 2014 in Abu Dhabi, 2015 in Athens, 2016 in Kazakhstan, 2017 in the United Kingdom and 2019 in Bangkok.
Looking forward to a successful campaign in Kenya, the school’s head of Sports, Sadiq Momodu, said: “We are going there with a formidable team and I know all eyes will be on us as champions in previous editions and the only schools to have won the tournament more than any other team.
“We hope and believe we can do it again. The students have been training and they are eager to practicalise what they have been taught when they get to Kenya.”
