Squad numbers available to potential Manchester United signings as departures confirmed

Manchester United will be hoping that the impending arrival of Mason Mount at Old Trafford will mark the beginning of a hive of transfer activity.

United, following several weeks of negotiations, reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Mount in a deal worth £60million. The Reds are set to pay £55m up-front and an additional £5m in add-ons.

The England international, should his medical go according to plan, will become United's first signing of the summer. Manager Erik ten Hag had made strengthening his midfield options one of his leading objectives and he will now be hoping to build on the impending arrival of Mount.

Though United are yet to officially get a new signing through the door, there have already been a flurry of departures, via the methods of loan agreements coming to an end, contracts coming to a conclusion and other clubs paying transfer fees. It means United's squad is now slightly lighter than it was a few weeks ago, but there is still a lot of work to be done between now and the 11pm deadline on September 1.

Once Mount is officially through the door, United will switch their focus to attempting to sign a striker and possibly a new first-choice goalkeeper. The Reds are still locked in discussions with David de Gea, though he is now technically a free agent after his deal expired on Friday.

With all of that in mind, MEN Sport has taken a close look at the squad numbers that are currently available to any potential new additions to Ten Hag's armoury this summer.
