Spurs transfer news: Tottenham are not worried Sergio Reguilon will push for summer exit

Transfer insider Dean Jones doesn’t believe that Tottenham are not worried about Sergio Reguilon pushing for a move back to Real Madrid this summer.

Reguilon only made the switch from the Spanish giants 18 months ago but has already been linked with a return to the Santiago Bernabeu.

When Reguilon made the move to North London, along with Gareth Bale, Madrid included a £27.5m buy-back clause in the deal. And according to the Mirror (via HITC), are planning on activating that clause at the end of the season.

Long-term left-back Marcelo is out of contract this summer and is expected to leave, which would leave the La Liga outfit with Ferland Mendy as their only other recognised left-sided player.

Reguilon was left out of the Tottenham XI against Wolves on Sunday but has been first-choice under the three managers he’s played under. Overall, the Spanish international has made 60 appearances for Spurs, chipping in with one goal and nine assists.

The report says that Madrid will decide on Reguilon’s future by the end of the month, although Jones doesn’t believe that Spurs are worried about the 25-year-old forcing a move back to his hometown club.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “As far as Spurs are concerned, they’re confident the player is not going to agitate for a move at this point.”
