Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte must keep Bryan Gil at the club amid reports linking him with an exit this summer.

The young Spaniard has impressed during a loan spell away from north London this season, raking in some high praise for his performances at LaLiga outfit Valencia and prior to his move to Spurs for Sevilla

Barcelona scout German Vaya Ballabriga once said this:

“Right now he is Spain’s best footballer and I compare him with Neymar. He can do certain things and has great versatility, as he can play at full-back, in the middle or on the left-wing. It’s impressive. I have spoken with [Barcelona’s sporting director] Raman Planes about him and he has Bryan Gil in mind.”

It’s thought that Conte has doubts over whether or not the 21-year-old will be able to cope with the physicality of the Premier League, leaving the Lilywhites boss with a conundrum – does he cash in to bolster the coffers or should he stick with him in the hope that it all works out?

The latter would make sense, considering they invested around £21.6m last summer, so perhaps another short-term stint away, this time in England, would do the job.

It’s no mean feat to be likened to Neymar, who over the course of his career has faced a number of teams, physical and not. It’s not affected his stock or ability.

According to reports in Spain, Gil has been ‘fast’, ‘electric’,’ ‘daring’ and ‘confident’ in his ability to attack the opposition’s defence and those are all attributes that could suggest that eventually, he may be able to transition into a top English top-flight talent.
