Spoils shared at Brandywell after Coll's late header
Derry City battled hard to earn a share of the spoils against a well organised Sligo Rovers side.
The league's topscorer Max Mata gave Rovers the lead at the break, but Ciaran Coll's late header earned the home side a deserved share of the spoils.
Worryingly for Ruaidhri Higgins is that for the second game running his side failed to test the opposition's goalkeeper, despite dominating for long periods, particularly in the first half.
To Rovers' credit their neat and tidy football resulted in Mata's goal and in the second half they looked a threat on the break and defended well when called upon.
The Brandywell men will also be disappointed for the second week running the referee's display played a major factor in the encounter, as referee Adriano Reale disallowed Jamie McGonigle's early goal.
