SPFL post split fixture dates revealed as clubs set to go down to the wire in thrilling Premiership finale

The SPFL have confirmed the post-split fixture timeline that makes up the remainder of the Premiership season.

Only Celtic and Rangers have their places confirmed in the top six and much has still to be decided with how the rest of the league finishes up. The final round of matches before then is April 22nd but supporters now know when they can expect to see their teams in action beyond that.

Following the split, the first matchs take place on the weekend of May 6 and 7 and matchday 38 comes on May 27 and 28, with the relegation play-offs and Scottish Cup final still to take place after that. It's a later finish this season due to the World Cup break last year, and SPFL Chief Operating Officer Calum Beattie said: “We are very much looking forward to an exciting conclusion to the season across all four divisions, with so much still to play for in the weeks ahead.

“The cinch Premiership split has been part of our game since 2000/01 and the race for the top six invariably creates plenty of drama and talking points. Last season was unprecedented, with an incredible seven clubs vying for three places on the final weekend of pre-split fixtures.

“With so few points between a number of teams, it will likely go down to the wire yet again this year. Scotland will once again have five clubs competing in UEFA competitions in 2023/24, which only adds to the interest as we approach the climax to the season."
