Like Lindgren, Zmarzlik was way off the pace for much of the session but posted a time of 13.175 on his 13th lap. Max Fricke won the event last year and is well placed to contend again after claiming third place.

British riders claimed fourth and fifth, with Dan Bewley and Robert Lambert showing good speed. Tai Woffinden had to settle for eighth place.
