Spanish coach sent off for entering pitch to stop opposition counter-attacking
The assistant manager of Spanish side Colmenar Viejo has made headlines after he entered the pitch to stop an opposition counter-attack.
During a regional first division match between Madrid sides Villanueva del Pardillo and Colmenar Viejo, a coach named locally as Ivan Abad Munoz stepped onto the pitch to prevent an attack in the final minutes of the match.
He was immediately sent off for his actions before a touchline brawl broke out as he was confronted for his actions.
Villanueva del Pardillo had just equalised to make it 1-1 and were looking to go 2-1 ahead as they caught Colmenar Viejo on the counter.
As the ball was played down the left, the home side looked to have a promising attack when Munoz stepped onto the pitch to stop the ball.
It went down about as well as you’d imagine with the furious opposition.
