Tottenham ready to listen to offers for fan favourite who appears to have lost Antonio Conte trust

Tottenham are reportedly willing to listen to offers for Sergio Reguilon this summer, with the left-back appearing to have lost the trust of coach Antonio Conte.

The 25-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot since the Italian was brought in to replace Nuno Espirito Santo at the end of last year, with Ryan Sessegnon and right-back Matt Doherty often preferred for the left wing-back spot.

And according to Football Insider there is interest from a LaLiga club for the Spain international.

Atletico Madrid are known to have an interest in the player. Other reports suggest that Reguilon could be Jordi Alba’s long-term successor at Barcelona.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, currently have a £43million buy-back option on the player. However, they are not thought to be interested in striking that deal.

The report from Football Insider adds that a source has told them that Tottenham are willing to do business for Reguilon. They are also willing to let him leave for less than the buy-back option Real have.

Reguilon showed glimpses of his quality at the begging of his Spurs career but it’s never really taken off.

In total he has made 67 appearances for the club and has made 22 Premier League starts this term.

The fact that Reguilon was dropped back to the bench for the return of Sessegnon in the draw at Brentford appears to show a lack of trust in the player from Conte.

Add in the fact that Sessegnon has hardly inspired since his move from Fulham. And the writing appears to be on the wall for Reguilon.

Tottenham are back in action this Sunday when they host Europa Conference League semi-finalists Leicester.

Conte’s men are currently two points north London rivals Arsenal in the race for Champions League football.
